Highlanders Get One-Run Win at Gulf Coast
Led by Wendell Palmer, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 7-6. Palmer went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Highlanders. Kamiel Wabeke locked down his 11th save. The Highlanders are now 22-14, while the Turbeaus fall to 18-18.

Asheville used a clutch hit from George McMahon to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Highlanders manager William Franklin. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
