Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Ogres
|
The Olympia Ogres got a magnificent performance from pitcher Everett Pratt, who muffled the Tacoma offense en route to a tight 3-1 Ogres win at Ballpark of Tacoma. Tim Strong, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits. Arsen Campbell got credit for the save for Olympia. It was his 2nd of the year.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, José Morales's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the Olympia third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Ogres manager Steve Ward, "I like our chances."
After today's action, Olympia sits at 17-17; Tacoma slips to 12-22.
