Turbeaus Get One-Run Win at Gwinnett
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus topped the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 2-1, in USSL Double A action at Experimental Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Gulf Coast pitcher and Washington, District of Columbia, native Bernard Miller. Picking up the save was Luis Valdés, his 10th. Gulf Coast now has a record of 16-16 with the win.
Gulf Coast used the timely hitting of Dae-jin Dokgo to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Turbeaus on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Gulf Coast manager Pancho Vargas.
