Chesapeake Gets 2-1 Win
|
Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas starter Yu-wei Kum turned in a sterling performance against the Marquette Miners, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Kum got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Kum allowed 1 run. Otto Mathews finished the game for Chesapeake and earned his 2nd save.
Chesapeake used the bat of Jesús Vargas to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We did just enough to win," Vargas said.
After today's action, Chesapeake sits at 15-16, while Marquette falls to 17-14.
