Highlanders Prevail, 6-4, Over Olympia
|
Asheville right fielder Puck Broekhuizen contributed to his team's 6-4 win over the Olympia Ogres. Broekhuizen, who is tied for 5th in the SAA with a .409 on-base percentage, went 2 for 2 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Highlanders. Kamiel Wabeke closed the door for Asheville, picking up his 9th save of the year. The Highlanders have an impressive 16-10 record.
Phil Hogan dealt the Ogres a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Asheville leading 1-0, Hogan hit a 1-2 cutter for a run-scoring single.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Broekhuizen told the Asheville News.
