Asheville Neutralizes Gwinnett, 2-0
|
Gwinnett pitcher José Guerrero gave the Highlanders all they could handle, but in the end, Asheville left Asheville Park with a win, 2-0. Guerrero allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. With the win, Asheville upped its record to 14-9.
Making an impact for the home team was Reynaldo García. In the bottom of the sixth, the 22-year old catcher had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Highlanders.
García told a Asheville News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
