Miners Sneak Past Nationals, 3-2

The Marquette Miners did just enough to secure a victory over the Ottawa Nationals, 3-2, at Marquette Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Volmer Aalbers. Marquette reliever Gonzalo Garibay picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. David Ramos took the loss. With the win, Marquette boosts its record to 11-7.
The Miners relied on first baseman Rich Kelley for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 13th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"This place was electric at the end," Aalbers said.
