Fighting Dachsunds Earn 4-3 Road Win Over Sacramento
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds had to overcome a fine effort from Sacramento pitcher José Jiménez to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Jiménez went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The winning pitcher was Cecil Drabek. He's now 7-5. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Fighting Dachsunds. Ray White closed the game out for Ellenburg, earning his 7th save.
Ellenburg used a clutch hit from Sze Qi to get the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fighting Dachsunds ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Qi told the Ellenburg Gazette.
The Silver AAA-leading Fighting Dachsunds have a record of 60-39.
