Buzz Take Nail-Biter Over Fighting Dachsunds
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz did just enough to secure a victory over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 4-3, at Spirits Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Nicolaas Eland. At 48-42, Salt Lake City is in 4th place in the Silver AAA.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 14th inning, when Salt Lake City pinch hitter Doyle Berkey, facing Dennis van Putten, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Buzz the 4-3 win.
"Good win," said Eland. "Maybe some of the whiners in the clubhouse will pipe down for a little while now."
