Shamakani Leads Rainbeaus to 9-2 Win Over Squirrel Monkeys
The Kansas Rainbeaus bested the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys by a score of 9-2, with first baseman Dean Shamakani getting the main credit. On the day, Shamakani went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Rainbeaus. Alfredo Rincón got the win, improving to 6-4. He held the Squirrel Monkeys to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. With the victory, the Rainbeaus record now stands at 33-38.

It could have been a different outcome for Kansas, had it not been for Cleaver Greene, the 23-year old catcher . Greene contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Kansas up, 6-2.

Shamakani told a Kansas News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
