Espinoza Slugs Fighting Dachsunds to 6-4 Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from Fernan Espinoza, who is tied for 6th in the SAAA with a .909 OPS, helped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds beat the Hialeah Dodos, 6-4. Thomas Canó got the win, improving to 3-3. He held the Dodos to 1 run on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Fred Bridges earned the save, his 1st, for the Fighting Dachsunds.
The Fighting Dachsunds had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 6-4, Ellenburg, with no one out. Hialeah, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Óscar Cardozo dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 curveball, he lined out.
The win puts the Fighting Dachsunds at 17-18, while the Dodos drop to 15-20.
