Coyotes Beat Rainbeaus, 6-4
Hamilton starter Santiago Proximo pitched well against the Kansas Rainbeaus at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Proximo, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Tony Rodríguez locked down his 6th save.

The Rainbeaus had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Coyotes going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old first baseman Ed Mellor came to the plate. Mellor hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Kansas hurler Gaberiela Tatafu. It was Mellor's 6th home run of the year.

"It was a solid team effort," said Proximo after the game.

The Coyotes move to 16-14 with the win, while the Rainbeaus drop to 13-17.
