2-0 Squirrel Monkeys Win over Buzz Evens Season Record
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys went home winners at Spirits Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Biff Pocoroba. Pocoroba stifled the Salt Lake City Buzz, enabling Syracuse to grab the 2-0 win. Pocoroba, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. Ron Plummer was credited with the save for Syracuse, his 4th of the season.

Syracuse relied on the hitting of Gabe Joicey to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 2-0. For the game, Joicey had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Salt Lake City manager Waylon Anderson.

The Squirrel Monkeys now own a record of 14-14.
