The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and Kansas Rainbeaus provided some drama for the home crowd.

Mike Johnstone did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds from losing, 5-4, to the Kansas Rainbeaus at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Johnstone was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Kansas pitcher Hugh Hudson got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fred Bridges got the loss.

Chris Carson, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Carson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Kansas up, 5-4.

"Winning never gets dull," said Carson.

The Rainbeaus' win now puts them at 10-14.
