Fighting Dachsunds Hang 6-3 Loss on Squirrel Monkeys
Ellenburg and Syracuse duked it out and the Fighting Dachsunds came out victorious.

The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds topped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 6-3, in USSL Triple A action at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ellenburg pitcher Bruce Kimsey. Kimsey, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Claude Richardson collected his 3rd save.

The Fighting Dachsunds got an important contribution from left fielder Wyatt Quick, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a first pitch fastball into center for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Fighting Dachsunds ahead, 5-0.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Ellenburg manager Hunter Curtis.

The Fighting Dachsunds, now 7-3, have been playing some good baseball.
