Squirrel Monkeys Walk It Off for 3rd Win of Season
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys had to overcome a fine effort from Hialeah pitcher Mark Taylor to grab a narrow 2-1 win at The Zoo in Syracuse. Taylor went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Syracuse reliever Fernando Mora picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joe Gram shouldered the loss. With the win, Syracuse boosts its record to 3-0.
The Squirrel Monkeys relied on designated hitter Sung-hoon Cho for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Cho said.
