The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Hialeah Dodos, 11-2, at The Zoo in Syracuse. Syracuse right fielder Dave Summers had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win takes Syracuse to 2-0.

Eduardo Lucciardi, who is rated as the 88th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Syracuse cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lucciardi said after the game.
