Whales Need Extra Frames to Get Past Highlanders
The Virginia Beach Whales topped the Asheville Highlanders, 6-4, in USSL Double A action at Asheville Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Virginia Beach pitcher I-tsing Weng. Virginia Beach, with the win, is 7-3.

Virginia Beach relied on the bat of Jessie Gibbs to get the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Whales ahead, 6-4. For the game, Gibbs had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Weng told the Virginia Beach Herald.
