|
Santa Barbara right fielder Rubén Larreta made his presence felt in the 9-6 Golden Cranes triumph over the Nolensville Knights. Larreta was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times. Jonathan Klein, the winner, improved to 8-1. He held the Knights to 4 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The save went to Thomas Hancock, his 7th this season.
The Golden Cranes got an important contribution from designated hitter Spencer Maddox, who in the bottom of the first hit a 3-1 fastball into left for a 2-run triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Golden Cranes ahead, 3-0.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Frank Glass said.
The Golden Cranes go to 48-42, putting them 5th in the Menard's AAA.
