Gwinnett Gets 7-3 Win
|
In the 7-3 Gwinnett win over Richland, the impact of Mike Williams was substantial. Williams, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2041 draft, went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Greg Ayala got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 6.2 innings. Rémy Moreau collected his 1st save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chiel Spronck? The Gwinnett center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Guinea Pigs on top, 1-0. For the game, Spronck had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
