Plymouth picked up a win at Jersey City Grounds, bumping off the Jersey City Tritons, 4-2. Pitcher Roger Edwards was a major reason the Rocks emerged victorious. Erik Jackson, now 3-3, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Plymouth is now 40-51. Jersey City is 57-34.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Bob Holmes to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocks ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Edwards. "Winning helps."
