The Athletic Club KC Reserves had to overcome a big game from Hartford second baseman John Fuller to leave KC Reserve Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 4-2. Fuller was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Joe Perkins earned the win to go to 3-8. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Athletic Club KC is now 35-45.
The Reserves got an important contribution from first baseman Neal Lewis, who in the bottom of the third hit a fastball into left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Reserves ahead, 2-0.
Lewis said his team "played with focus."
