Dixon, Disaster Too Much for Nobles
|
The Port Royal Disaster topped the Bakersfield Nobles by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Bryant Dixon. Dixon was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 for the Disaster on the day. Joop Els snagged the win in relief. In 4.1 innings, the left-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. The win puts Port Royal at 23-37.
The Disaster got a big at-bat from second baseman David Mooney, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Disaster on top, 4-3.
