The Port Royal Disaster faced a tough opponent in Jersey City pitcher Jing-quo Ts'ai, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Jersey City Grounds by a final score of 4-3. Ts'ai went 7.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. The win has Port Royal at 16-26.
Port Royal took a 4-3 lead on Bryant Dixon's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Dixon hit in the top of the eighth, left Jersey City pitcher Jordan Murdoch visibly frustrated.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Jersey City manager Erwin Chapman. "But we decided not to take it."
