The inspired effort of Pennsauken catcher Lachlan Thurgood was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-5, to the Monongahela Monsters. Thurgood went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Mike Davidson nailed down his 8th save. The 8th-place Flyers have dropped 5 straight games.

In the top of the ninth, Yakamochi Ota stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Flyers were trailing 8-5, but had the bases loaded. That's when Mike Davidson made a terrific pitch and Ota struck out. Gone was the dream of a Pennsauken comeback.
