Black Mambas Drop Knights, 5-2
|
The Austin Black Mambas defeated the Nolensville Knights, 5-2, in M3L Triple A action at Nolensville Park. Austin pitcher Dave Newman had a standout performance. In 5 innings, Newman surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The win gives Austin a season record of 40-27.
It could have been a different outcome for Austin, had it not been for An-te-hai Qing, the 30-year old left fielder . Qing contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put Austin up, 1-0.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Qing.
