The Austin Black Mambas beat the Forest City Warriors, 4-2. Austin pitcher and Phoenix, Arizona, native Kyle Horton led the way. Horton went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. The win puts Austin at 39-26 this season.
The Black Mambas got a big at-bat from catcher Tony San Pedro. For the game, San Pedro went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Austin a 4-1 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said San Pedro. "And not try to do too much."
