Ota Delivers Walk-Off Win for Flyers
|
The Pennsauken Flyers faced a tough opponent in Port Royal pitcher Dan Bond, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pennsauken Park by a final score of 3-1. Bond went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. François Boyer earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 3-0. The slumping Disaster have lost 7 straight.
Pennsauken won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and José Díaz on the mound for Port Royal, third baseman Yakamochi Ota hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Flyers fans to their feet.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Ota.
