Monongahela Monsters starter Mutu Kirra had all his pitches working at Timber Hawks Ballpark. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-1 Monongahela win over the Tortolita Drummers. Monongahela now has a record of 16-15 with the win.

Shao Qigang hit a grand slam home run off Lorenzo Carregosa in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Monsters ahead, 5-1. In addition to the homer, Qigang had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Qigang.
