Led by Eisse van Barneveld, the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes downed the Austin Black Mambas, 6-2. van Barneveld slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Golden Cranes. The winning pitcher was Jorge Bigro. His record is now 3-0. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits for the Golden Cranes. Santa Barbara is now 27-27.
With Santa Barbara leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, van Barneveld came up to bat against Austin pitcher Dave Newman. van Barneveld hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Golden Cranes on top, 4-1.
