Red Pandas Defeat Knights, 3-1
|
Pleun Vleugel was a major factor in the 3-1 Sioux Falls win over Nolensville. The Red Pandas first baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run. Laurens Bancroft, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Heath Hennington earned save number 6 this season.
Tied up with the Knights in the top of the fourth inning, the Red Pandas got a boost from shortstop Juan Morales. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Morales saw a 1-1 slider from Jimmy Evans and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Sioux Falls on top, 2-1.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Morales.
Sioux Falls has now won 3 straight, while the Knights have lost 3 in a row.
