Sunset District Goes Hitless Against Gallardo
Javier Gallardo was just plain nasty on the mound today, overpowering the Sunset District Fog in a complete game no-hitter.

The right-hander used his signature curveball to perfection as the Vermont Lake Monsters waltzed to a 8-0 win.

"He was what the kids call 'filthy,'" losing manager Raymond Thomas said later.

In a dominant performance, Gallardo faced 29 batters in all and finished the game with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks.

"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Gallardo said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff."\n

In season stats Gallardo shows a 4-3 record in 7 games, 50.1 innings, 39 strikeouts and a 2.86 ERA.
