The home crowd had a good time watching the Austin Black Mambas and Syracuse Starks get after it.
The Syracuse Starks topped the Austin Black Mambas, 6-3, in M3L Triple A action at Stark Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Syracuse pitcher José Torres. The winning pitcher was Torres, now 1-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. Mario Rosales nailed down his 6th save.
In the bottom of the fifth, with Syracuse leading 2-1, first baseman Zhong-yi Yun hit a 2-run single. The hit came off Stanley Davis and put the Starks ahead, 4-1.
Despite the victory, Yun was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
The Starks now have a record of 7-14.
