The Forest City Warriors overcame a good performance by Baton Rouge catcher Olo Iukekini to knock off Baton Rouge, 8-6, at Brass Field. Iukekini went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Forest Bell, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Chris Logan was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Forest City used a well-timed hit by Bob Smith to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Warriors ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Smith.

The win takes Forest City to 2-0.
