Allen Sharp, Whitewashes Harbor Whales Wednesday, August 17th , 2044 The Flint Crush shut out the Greenport Harbor Whales 6-0 today behind the strong pitching of Joe Allen. Allen surrendered only 6 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 5. Following the last out, Allen appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Greenport manager Fernando Mendoza, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Allen's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Harbor Whales skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Crush press conference, Allen confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Allen said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Flint manager Steve Bryan added. This year Allen has a 6-9 record with a 4.51 ERA.
