2044 PR Pitcher of the Year Award Announced Saturday, September 24th , 2044 Alonso Álvarez of the Tulsa Otters had a fine 13-5 season in 2044 and today claimed the USPL Rookie Pitcher of the Year Award. He started 21 times, threw 147.1 innings while collecting 154 strikeouts and fashioned a 1.71 ERA. Álvarez allowed only 106 hits, 29 walks and a .199 opponents' batting average. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Raúl Fuentes of the Long Island Ducks finished second in voting, while Floyd Niebla of the Fort Knox Centennial finished third.
