Long Island Second Baseman Nets PR Award Monday, August 22nd , 2044 Brad Brown must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .476 pace, then the Long Island second baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the USPL Rookie Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Brown quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Brown. He hit .476 average (10-for-21) with 1 home run and 1 RBIs. This year Brown is hitting .306 with 8 home runs and 40 RBIs in 84 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .398 with 48 walks and 43 runs scored. |
