Ogres End Hastings's Streak Saturday, June 18th , 2044 The Olympia Ogres pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Edwin Hastings hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 8-6 victory over the Providence Pilgrims at Field of Plenty. The disappointing performance ended a 24-game hitting streak for the shortstop. "I'm a little down right now," Hastings said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Presently Hastings is batting .358 and has collected 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, .368 OBP and scored 20 runs. |
