Figueroa Gets Award for Relief Work
Wednesday, October 5th , 2044
At the age of 21, Tony Figueroa says he still has a lot to learn about life in USPL Double A.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Northville Eclipse reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2044 USPL Double A Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Gillette, Wyoming native said.
For the season, Figueroa had 26 saves in 40 relief appearances, which totaled 39.2. He fanned 62 betters, while walking 16 and put up a record of 3-0 to go with his 1.36 ERA.
He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. Myles Winters of the Bethesda Atoms finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Masaki Ito of the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks finished third.
