Liñares Clobbers 3 HR Against Saboteurs
Tuesday, July 12th , 2044
It was a good day for the Yakima Hops and an exceptional one for Desi Liñares. The 22-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Hops beat the Toledo Saboteurs 14-8 at Toledo Backyard Park.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Liñares said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
Desi Liñares hit a two-run home run off Darwin McGinnity in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Darwin McGinnity in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Augusto Jaramillo in the 9th.
So far this year, Liñares is batting .266 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs.
