Bongo in Command, No-Hits Drummers
Thursday, August 25th , 2044
Is it better to be lucky or good?
After leading the Kansas Rainbeaus to victory, 12-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Tortolita Drummers, Omar Bongo didn't have the answer.
"I don't know," Bongo said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both."
On his big day at Wichita Field, Bongo fanned 8 and had 3 walks. And it seemed that when the Drummers managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender.
"That's how you get a no-hitter," Bongo said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck."
Thus far this season, Bongo has worked 68.1 innings with 43 strikeouts en route to a 4-5 record and a 7.38 ERA.
