Kline on Fire: Burns Plymouth with 3 HR Saturday, August 20th , 2044 It was a good day for the Jersey City Tritons and an exceptional one for Sherman Kline. The 25-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Tritons beat the Plymouth Rocks 10-5 at Jersey City Grounds. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Kline said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Sherman Kline hit a two-run home run off Cristián Reyes in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jason Hartridge in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Ralph Owens in the 8th. In 67 games this season Kline is batting .253 with 57 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 38 runs and driven in 35. |
