Holmes Raps Port Royal for 5 Hits Saturday, July 9th , 2044 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Bob Holmes is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Port Royal Disaster at Plymouth Quarry today. The monster effort from the 22-year-old third baseman helped the Plymouth Rocks take the win, 19-2. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Disaster manager Bernie Drake. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Bob Holmes hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. For the year Holmes is hitting .357 with 6 home runs.
