5-Hit Blitz by Nolensville's Eckstein Monday, July 4th , 2044 Duff Eckstein got the glory and the headlines today, but the Baton Rouge Brass left with the win. The Nolensville second baseman easily handled the Brass pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Nolensville Knights came out on the short end of the 11-10 score. Eckstein told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Duff Eckstein singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th. View Boxscore View Game Log |
