Season Over for Craig Fitzgerald in Toledo Tuesday, September 20th , 2044 The doctors have spoken and Craig Fitzgerald of the Toledo Stingers didn't like what he heard. The 33-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Fitzgerald sustained his season-ending injury during the Mississippi Mockingbirds game yesterday at Pacesetter Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing the ball. Today the Toledo medical staff reported Fitzgerald had an oblique strain and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6-7 weeks. His record this year is 5-6 in 22 starts and Fitzgerald has a 3.10 ERA. |
