Best Pitcher Trophy Won by Hermit Crabs Averett Monday, September 28th , 2043 William Averett of the Hermit Crabs humbled hitters all season long and today celebrated as he hauled in the USSL Single A Pitcher of the Year trophy, the coveted Outstanding Pitcher Award. The Huntington hurler held opposing hitters to a .188 batting average while putting up a 7-3 record and a 1.35 earned run average. He started 17 games, pitched 113 innings and struck out 115. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Elliot Reid of the Kent Comets finished second in voting, while Rich Roberts of the Kent Comets finished third.
