Put-In-Bay Reliever Out
Monday, September 12th , 2044
Put-In-Bay fans will be disappointed to learn that Christian Hebert suffered a torn meniscus while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Put-In-Bay Commodores manager that Hebert was expected to miss 5 months, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the reliever could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
Hebert has taken the mound for 34 relief appearances this season, nailing down 3 saves while notching a 6-1 record with a 1.78 ERA. The Put-In-Bay reliever has limited opposing batters to a .170 batting average.
