League Punishes Pair for Fighting Wednesday, August 31st , 2044 If there wasn't a history between Francisco De La Cruz of Cut Off and Jack Handey of Columbia, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," De La Cruz said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." De La Cruz has collected 58 hits for the Crawdads this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 35 RBIs and scored 25 runs while batting .271. On the season Handey has a 6-8 record with a 4.72 ERA. |
