5 Hits for Walleye Shkurin Thursday, August 11th , 2044 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Walla Walla's 6-2 win over Pontiac today, right fielder Jeirgif Shkurin was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Pontiac Copperdome. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Shkurin said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Jeirgif Shkurin singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
