Season Ends for Mike Ramírez of Grand Forks Tuesday, August 2nd , 2044 The doctors have spoken and Mike Ramírez of the Grand Forks Caterpillars didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ramírez sustained his season-ending injury during the Pontiac Godfathers game yesterday at Pontiac Copperdome. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Grand Forks medical staff reported Ramírez had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months. This season Ramírez has claimed no saves and registered a 1-1 record with a 3.90 ERA. He has 14 relief appearances spanning 27.2 innings and has struck out 32. |
